Bracknell Town FC 0 – 6 Galaxy
The U15s traveled away to Bracknell Town FC for their first JPL fixture of the 2019/20 season in the ‘JPL Cup U15’ preliminary rounds.
‘Bracknell Town T1‘ is a newly formed side made up of much of last seasons strong ‘Evo‘ squad, however, Galaxy’s tireless pre-season workouts looked to pay dividends from the off as they dominating possession throughout the first quarter.
Charlie opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Aryan was tripped 0-1.
Galaxy immediately gained possession and within 60 seconds the ball was back in the net, this time Fletch from the edge of the box, his shot had enough power to beat the hand of the keeper 0-2.
The second quarter saw Bracknell take the lion share of possession, playing a higher line with more aggression but unable to break a resolute Galaxy defence.
Against the run of play, with half-time approaching Galaxy’s Connor broke and fired across to Charlie who’s bicycle kick smashed against the crossbar then rebounded back to Charlie to slot home 0-3.
The third quarter saw some slick movement and one-touch passing from Galaxy which resulted in the ball finding its way to Noel who struck from 6yds 0-4.
The build-up play continued with a string of passes, over to Lee on the right-wing who whipped it across, Ryan volleyed it home from close range 0-5.
The final quarter saw goal of the day…
Galaxy now in full control, pinging it all over the park played a long and high forward pass from the halfway line towards the 18yard box.
Steaming forward, Charlie struck it on the volley from 25yards out straight over the advancing keeper without a bounce 0-6.
The quality of the finish was sublime, not only did the opposition supporters applaud it, they got out their seats to clap!
Next up for the JLP 15s, Aldershot away – 21st September.
